The problem with humans: Instinct, sex, culture and their impact on design
Design would be easy... if it weren't for the people who will be using it. They can be way too unpredictable.
Dan Formosa has pioneered human-centered approaches to design throughout his career. He has applied his thinking to award winning items ranging from household products to healthcare, food to automobiles – with approaches that have led to innovations in both physical design and digital interfaces.
His current focus includes design and gender, evidence-based design methods, and understanding behavior. This talk will center on instinct, preconceptions, sex, culture, and individual physical and cognitive abilities – factors that all determine success in design.
