There is a huge opportunity to connect new generations of physical devices in the wearables, hearables and home automation markets, and the success of these connected embedded devices will be achieved through the connectivity to services and end-to-end solutions that will reshape interactive user experiences. To realize this market growth, ARM provides the right solutions based on Bluetooth low energy to open a vast new developer audience with the opportunity to realize the potential of this technology.

The ARM Cordio family of standards-based, low-power radio IP solutions provide on-chip radio connectivity for SoCs implementing Bluetooth low energy. Cordio radio cores are fully integrated solutions with a hardware core, software stacks, and profiles. The low-voltage, low-power cores are designed for optimal efficiency with the ARM Cortex-M processor family.

The Cordio architecture brings extensive choice and flexibility to SoC designers by providing foundry/process support, radio standards, software stacks, as well as expanded support through third parties to ensure easy integration into SoC projects. It provides semiconductor companies with access to cutting-edge, sub-volt radio solutions and can effectively keep up with evolving standards and processes in a cost-effective, risk-free manner. The Cordio portfolio consists of complete sub-volt radio IP solutions (hardware sub-system), radio standards delivered as soft IP and software (Link/MAC, stack and profiles).
